Take a Breath

AWILDA

The ginormous 39 foot tall head that stood in Chicago's Millenium Park for over a year has been deconstructed. The meditating head was a graceful source of peace and calm in one of the nation's most bustling cities. I sat with Awilda on the morning of her last full day in Chicago, January 3, 2016. In that moment she shared her peace:

Know that you don't know. Practice saying it.

Find connections between you and the people around you.

Be open to what arises in every moment. Accept constant change.

Notice where help is needed and be quick to step in.

Take a deep breath before you enter your home, place of work or school.

When you feel compelled to speak, just pause.

Eat with awareness and gratitude.

Pay attention to the effects of media.

Pause before buying.

Be equally grateful for opportunities and challenges.

Notice what you have. Appreciate what you do not need.

Share joy, not negativity. See what is possible.
