The original Substance
The Science of Getting Rich, written by the New Thought movement writer Wallace D. Wattles, published in 1910 and still in print today. The book is divided into 17 short, straight-to-the-point chapters that explain how to overcome mental barriers, and how creation, rather than competition, is the hidden key to wealth attraction and prosperity in life.
The book is based on the Hindu philosophies that One is All, and that All is One and what Wattles called "the Certain Way of Thinking", a mental technique intended to establish a state of positivity and self-affirmation that influences physicality and leads to comfort and well-being.
Wattles believed that all things are forms of the one Original Substance; from which all things in the universe are made, is conscious and intelligent and out of which all things proceed. We control this substance through our thoughts and achieve success by first creating that success in our minds. All the achievements in the world began from the mind of their creators. The visible supply of the substance is practically inexhaustible, and the invisible supply absolutely infinite.
